FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Everything you might want to know before you follow the match from your desk.
Is Sport Spreadsheet free?
Yes. Sport Spreadsheet is completely free to use. There is no paywall, no trial and no credit card — open the page and start following the match.
Do I need to download or install anything?
No. Sport Spreadsheet runs entirely in your web browser. There is nothing to install, no extension and no app store — which also means nothing for IT to flag on your machine.
Do I need an account?
No account is needed to use it. Signing in is optional and only exists to sync your preferences — your view, skin, open leagues and notes — across devices. It uses a one-tap email link with no password.
Which sports and leagues are covered?
Football leads the way: the FIFA World Cup, the English Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, the UEFA Champions League and Major League Soccer. Cricket includes international fixtures and the Indian Premier League, with basketball, American football and rugby league available in beta.
How does the boss key work?
Press the backtick key — the ` to the left of the 1 — and the grid instantly drops behind an Excel-style Protected View banner that blurs the data. Press it again to return. There is also an F9 'recalculate' that runs a calculation sweep for extra cover.
Will my colleagues or boss be able to tell?
Sport Spreadsheet is designed for the over-the-shoulder test: it renders inside authentic Google Sheets or Excel chrome, the window reads 'Performance Dashboard', and a disguise persona can relabel the scores as a project tracker or sales pipeline. That said, you should always follow your own workplace's policies and keep it to downtime.
Does it work on mobile?
It works on phones, but Sport Spreadsheet is a desktop-first app: the full spreadsheet, keyboard shortcuts and side-by-side match details are built for a larger screen, and mobile shows a trimmed, card-based view. For the complete experience, open it on a laptop or desktop.
Is my data private?
Yes. Usage analytics are anonymous and disclosed in the app — a random visitor id and which view you pick, with no personal data. If you choose to sign in, the only thing stored is the email you use to sync your preferences.
How fast are the scores?
The grid refreshes on its own while you watch, so scores, statuses and standings update in near real time. A changed score briefly flashes its row, just like a recalculated spreadsheet cell.
Can I follow more than one competition at once?
Yes. Open multiple competitions as sheet tabs and switch between them like any workbook, so you can keep an eye on several matches or leagues at the same time.
